Student Stories - PhD
Maria Marcos | PhD Candidate from Mexico
After years of taking care of my family, I wanted to go back to school to earn my PhD and begin teaching. I wanted to be at an International School, to learn both locally and internationally.
I looked into many options, however, ISM was different. Matthew Werner, ISM Executive Director, took an interest in me, as person, and not as just another student. After my interview with the School Chancellor, and the submission of my application materials, I was accepted and honored with Women Back to Education Scholarship.
I´m so excited studying for my PhD, and so glad to be a student at ISM. I have never before had assignments so challenging as my first Evaluation Case, and those for my Dynamic Strategic Management course. I am learning a great deal from the coursework, and about the way first class schools, like ISM, work and provide education.
I´m improving as a woman, a professor, and as a person of influence.
