Our core faculty plays a major role in strengthening the relationship between key stakeholder groups and the school.

The team is made up of corporate learning specialists and doctorally qualified instructors, and their areas of expertise and professional experience correlate with key parts of the ISM curricula.

Dana Anagnostou, JD

Dana Anagnostou teaches Corporate Finance and International Business Law in the IMBA program at ISM. An attorney with over 20 years’ experience in large international law firms, she practices general corporate law, with a focus on cross-border investments, mergers and acquisitions, and finance. She also has substantial experience on intellectual property matters and international trade issues.

Ms. Anagnostou’s transactions generally involve France, the US, and/or the UK, often in the finance or technology fields. Her clients include private equity funds, financial institutions, fintech and other technology companies as well as industrials, particularly in the fashion and consumer brands sector.

Fluent in both French and English, she is an American who began her career in 1994 in the New York office of Rogers & Wells, moving to Paris in 1998 and joining the Paris office of American law firm Kramer Levin in 2000. She is a member of the New York and Paris bars and a solicitor in England and Wales.

Matthew Andrews, PhD

Matthew Andrews holds a PhD in international management and publishes research on organizational development and learning, team dynamics, and knowledge management in technology companies, and in the healthcare sector. He has been working in higher education in France since 1997 as a teacher, administrator, consultant, and accreditation peer reviewer.

César Baena, PhD

For over fifteen years, Professor César Baena has been involved in academia, as professor, research supervisor, and director of graduate programs. César completed his PhD at the London School of Economics. Upon earning his PhD, and after a short stint in banking, he went to work at an international business school. César teaches Corporate Strategy, International Business, and Emerging Markets.

Along with his involvement in business education, César has also been consulting for international companies and start-ups. His research interests and publications have been primarily focused on the internationalization strategy of firms, Emerging Market Multinationals (EMM), entrepreneurship, born-global companies, fund management in energy-rich regions, and oil policy. Currently, César is ISM Dean and Director of Doctoral Research.

Paul Bailo, PhD

Collateral to his business impact, Paul teaches as Adjunct Executive Graduate Professor in Applied Analytics at Columbia University and Digital Marketing, Innovation, and Data Analytics at New York University. Earlier, he headed the development of Mercy College’s fastest-growing college major – Managerial Analytics. He served as an executive advisor to the governments of Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Abu Dhabi, as well as the Central Bank of Nigeria and Drexel University. Paul also acquired eight unique US patents.

Currently, Paul is Global Head for Digital Strategy & Innovation for Infosys Digital where he focuses on creating and executing new business strategies, innovative solutions, and rolling out unique digital platforms. As “Go-To Resource” for internal executives, he spearheads digital innovation, designing new processes and handling large-scale project portfolios. He continues to interact with Fortune 500 clients, such as Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, AT&T, SunTrust, Apple, Google, and many other industry leaders.

Paul is a published author with three industry books, as well as many original business articles and presentations. He has a PhD from the International School of Management, an MBA in Marketing and Technology from Wagner College, an MS in Clinical Social Work (Human Behavior) from Fordham University, and BS in Finance & Technology from St. John’s University.

Joachim Bauer, PhD

Having received a PhD in Management, Dr. Joachim Bauer has concentrated on developing his experience in consultancy, research, and teaching. He has continued to build up and expand his academic research portfolio at Leeds University Business School, London Business School, University of Liverpool Management School, the International School of Management as well as various other schools.

In the consulting business, Joachim advises his clients in various areas of management including strategic management, operations strategy development, operations improvement, business level strategy development, change and innovations. Clients are from a variety of sectors such as bakery, finance, and IT. Alongside his main strand of business, he keeps up to date with the latest academic developments through his work with various universities. He has refined his experience in a newly founded university in Germany, where he has - amongst other duties of a Founding Provost - developed a new MBA program.

Dr. Bauer has taught master and bachelor level modules in Operations Management, Quality Management, Knowledge Management, Research Methods, and Academic Writing and Skills. Since 2009, he has focused on teaching online in PhD, DBA, MBA, and MSc programs, and has successfully supervised numerous PhD and DBA dissertations as well as MBA and MSc theses.

Barak Ben-Avinoam, PhD

Dr. Barak Ben-Avinoam teaches Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the IMBA program at ISM. Dr. Ben-Avinoam is a serial entrepreneur and an expert in the field of early-stage investments, technology start-ups, accelerators and incubators. Barak is a Partner at Benhamou Global Ventures (BGV), a Silicon Valley-based early stage venture capital fund that focuses on enterprise IT innovation. Prior to BGV, Barak Ben-Avinoam was a Managing Partner at Fastlane Ventures (FLV), the leading Internet accelerator in Russia, and a Managing Director at QuantumWave Capital (QWC), a boutique, Paris-based investment banking firm specializing in technology mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to QWC Barak was an executive in two of the leading Israeli incubators in the internationally recognized Incubator Program led by the Israeli Office of the Chief Scientist. At this capacity Barak led dozens of investment transactions and worked closely with CEO's of early-stage companies. Before his tenure as an investor Barak was a co-Founder and held C-level positions at several Israeli technology start-up companies, including CEO of Flash Networks, GM of European Operations at Business Layers, and CEO of Prolify. Barak Ben-Avinoam is an Advisory Board Member, mentor and a panelist at several international acceleration programs, including at the Technion's BizTEC Program, Tel Aviv Academic College Start-HUB Accelerator Program, The College of Management Academic Studies in Israel, and others.

Dr. Ben-Avinoam has also taught MBA-level seminars in Cross-Cultural Management and Entrepreneurship at leading MBA programs, including at the Technion, Tel-Aviv University and at the Interdisciplinary Center in Israel, and at ENPC and ISM in France. Barak holds a Doctorate of Business Administration, with honors, from the International School of Management, Paris, France, and a B.Sc. in Information Systems, with honors, from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA.

Linda Benrais, PhD

Dr. Linda Benraïs is Adjunct Professor of Comparative Law and Mediation at ESSEC Business School and Director of Irené programs "Governance and Conflict Resolution" Program and Accredited international mediator in Paris and London. She coordinates international and European programs related to governance, human rights, and international mediation. Prior to joining ESSEC, she was the Director of the Agency for International Legal Cooperation- JCI in the French Ministry of Justice for 13 years.

Dr. Benraïs has 18 years of experience as an EU legal consultant and trainer in international legal cooperation, legal and judicial reforms, international mediation and other ADR in all the European Eastern countries (including Balkan region), the Middle East, North Africa, and South-East Asia. She conducts on a regular basis policy advice, training seminars, coaching, conflict analysis, mediations, retreats and co-facilitation for various international organizations and agencies (EU Commission, EEAS, Council of Europe, OSCE, UNDP, World Bank, UNDC and International Organization of Francophonie etc.) and she is member of the EPLO Executive Committee. She is the author of a book on mediation and ADR and of other articles on peace building and conflict prevention.

She holds a PhD in European Public Comparative law, a postgraduate research diploma in International Economic Law and Development, a Master in Business Law and a university diploma of Mediator and other international accreditations in mediation.

Eleonora Cattaneo, PhD

Dr. Eleonora Cattaneo teaches Integrated Communications in the DBA and PhD programs at ISM. Her areas of expertise include strategic and international marketing as well as brand management and communications. She has global consulting experience in a variety of Fortune 500's: Fiat, CNH Industrial, Renault and Nestlé among others.

She has acted as in-house advisor to CMOs providing insights as well as support in deployment of new market entry strategies, brand repositioning and new product launches. She has been visiting professor at EM Lyon, the Helsinki School of Economics and Cranfield School of Management. Author of several publications and papers, among others: "Assessing the revival potential of brands from the past: how relevant is nostalgia in retrobranding strategies?" (with Carolina Guerini) in Journal of Brand Management. She holds a BA from Bristol University (UK), MBA at SDA Bocconi, PhD University of Pavia.

Hugues Chenet, PhD

Hugues Chenet co-founded the 2° Investing Initiative [2°ii] think tank in 2012 and has been Non-Executive Director since 2016. 2°ii develops climate and long-term risk metrics and related policy options in financial markets. He is a climate and sustainability interdisciplinary researcher, holding an honorary senior research associate position at University College London (UK), and a research associate to the Chair of Energy and Prosperity at X/ENSAE/ENS (France).

Dr. Chenet worked as a sustainability and risk expert for a finance and management consultancy from 2007 to 2012 and holds a PhD in geophysics. He started his career on planetary science at the Institute of Earth Physics of Paris and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. He will be teaching a course on sustainable business development to our doctoral candidates in the spring of 2019.

Ivonne Chirino-Klevans, PhD

Dr. Ivonne Chirino-Klevans teaches Teaching & the Human Brain in our DBA and PhD programs at ISM. Chirino-Klevans is an expert in Global Executive Education. She has held executive positions such as Assistant Dean of Executive Education for the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, as well as Program Director for Duke Corporate Education.

Her experience is in program design, international client management, cross-cultural organizational environment assessments, international talent attraction and retention, compensation programs, training needs assessment, training management, and impact of training. She has consulted for clients such as Deutsche Bank, TRW, Ford Motor Company, among others. Her work has been featured in CNN, Caribbean Business, Talent Management Magazine, among other publications.

Earlier in her career, she also served as the psychologist for the Mexican national rowing team, and contributed to the team winning a silver medal at the 1991 Pan Am Games. She herself is a Pan American games medalist in gymnastics. She combines her experience as an executive, elite athlete and psychologist to create action learning experiences in online and face-to-face learning communities.

Chirino-Klevans received a PhD in Psychology from Universidad Iberoamericana, an MBA from Univesidad de las Américas, and a Masters and BA in Psychology from Georgia College and State University.

Tobias de Coning, PhD

Dr. Tobias de Coning teaches Human Resources Management in the IMBA program and Managing Small and Medium Sized Entreprises in the DBA and PhD programs at ISM. Dr. de Coning is an academic from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, where he also holds a senior management position as Chief Director: Strategic Initiatives and Human Resources. Over the last couple of years he has worked extensively on projects aimed at the internationalization of small and medium sized enterprises and is currently also involved in a major project on this topic sponsored by Barclays Africa. He is also a visiting professor at both Coventry University as well as Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom, where his work focuses on the subject of Systemic Entrepreneurship. He is also a visiting professor at EMS Strasbourg, where he teaches Strategic Human Resources Management. Professor de Coning is an experienced supervisor and study leader at both the Masters and PhD levels. He has wide ranging international experience and currently also works extensively with the Association of Africa Universities (AAU) to advance the functionality of member universities. This is done in collaboration with international agencies such as CASE.

Desmond Cooney, PhD

Dr. Desmond Cooney teaches International Marketing in the IMBA program at ISM. Cooney is Founder & Managing Director of Axis Financial Consultants, a financial services company based in Paris, France. He has worked as a financial broker for over 20 years and specializes in the area of offshore banking, and international pensions for expatriates.

Dr. Teck Eng teaches Advanced Qualitative Methods and Research Methods in the DBA and PhD programs at ISM. Dr. Eng is Professor of Marketing, Director of the Centre of Excellence in Digital, Interactive & Data-Driven Marketing, at the University of Southampton, UK. Eng has successfully supervised PhD students to completion. His teaching interests include advanced analytic methods, research methods, business marketing, marketing strategy, new product development, customer insights, branding and developing a market-oriented organisation. His research interests include business marketing, digital marketing, entrepreneurship and innovation, learning mechanisms through digital and mobile technology.

Eng is currently supervising PhD students on topics related to his research interests. He has published articles in numerous blind peer reviewed academic journals including Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of World Business, Journal of Business Ethics, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management and Technovation.

Mark Esposito, PhD

Dr. Mark Esposito is co-founder and Chief Strategic Officer at Nexus FrontierTech, a leading global firm providing AI solutions to a variety of clients across industries, sectors, and regions. In 2016 he was listed on the Radar of Thinkers50, as of the 30 most prominent business thinkers on the rise, globally.

He teaches Business, Government & Society & Economic Strategy and Competitiveness for Harvard University's Division of Continuing Education, and serves as Institutes Council Co-Leader, at the Microeconomics of Competitiveness program (MOC) at the Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School.

Mark is a Professor of Business & Economics at Hult International Business School and a Fellow at the Judge Business School in the UK, as part of the Circular Economy Center. He equally holds an Adjunct Professorship at IE Business School.

He holds Fellowships with the Social Progress Imperative and with the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils in Washington D.C. He is a nonresident Fellow at the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government in Dubai. Mark has been appointed as a global expert for the Fourth Industrial Revolution at World Economic Forum.

Mark is the co-author of the bestseller Understanding How the Future Unfolds: Using DRIVE to Harness the Power of Today's Megatrends. The framework contained therein was nominated for the CK Prahalad Breakthrough Idea Award by Thinkers50, the most prestigious award in business thought leadership. The DRIVE framework has also led Chartered Management Institute’s own magazine Professional Manager in the UK to name Mark as one of the 18 new voices in 2018 that reshape management and leadership.

S. K. Laroiya, PhD

Dr. S. K. Laroiya is a Professor of Economics at Hans Raj College, University of Delhi, and an Adjunct Professor of Research Methodology and Economics at Amity Business School. Dr. Laroiya received a Ph.D and a Masters in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.

Claudiney Fullmann, PhD

Professor Fullmann holds a PhD from Florida Christian University. He occupied several executive positions in various industries for 20 years. He was one of 400 men who joined the worldwide team of Jack Welch, an icon from the Executive of the twentieth century with whom he shared important lessons of leadership, exchanged experiences, and faced major challenges. He served as Vice President and General Manager of General Electric’s Heavy Equipment Division.

Leonora Fuxman, PhD

Dr. Leonora Fuxman is an Associate Professor of Management at St. John’s University. Dr. Fuxman received a Ph.D in Operations Management and a Masters in Decision Sciences from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelors in Mathematics from Kiev State University, Ukraine.

Mark Gershon, PhD

Dr. Mark Gershon teaches Project Management in the DBA & PhD programs at ISM. Gershon, a certified Project Management Professional and Six Sigma Master Black Belt, is chairman of the department of Operations Management at Temple University and President of the World Class Training Institute.

He is a leading researcher, educator and practitioner in the areas of project management, quality and process improvement methodologies. An industrial engineer by training, he acquired a broad background in manufacturing processes as a quality engineer for the Army Armaments Command Project Management Office. He has helped many companies to implement project management and improvement systems, taught numerous classes on these subjects, and conducted and published research on best practices for such implementations.

Joseph Gilkey, PhD

Joseph Gilkey, Jr. is an Asst. Professor, Co-Chair Consumer Institute and Director of the Bloomberg Trading Room at Saint Peter's University Adjunct Professor at St John's University, He has also taught as an Adjunct Professor at the New York Institute of Technology in Statistical Sampling and Decision Science for Management.

Mr. Gilkey is a PhD candidate at ISM and received an M.B.A. from Indiana University, a B.B.A. in Business Management from Dowling College, and an A.A.S. in Business Administration from Suffolk Community College. He has over 30 years of management experience in all facets of the newspaper business, currently overseeing the Circulation, Promotion, and Consumer Marketing departments as Senior Vice-President of the New York Daily News, the largest daily tabloid newspaper, most recently served as the Chief Consumer Officer.

José Gimenez, PhD

José Gimenez teaches Business Statistics and Research Methods, as well as Supply Chain Management in the IMBA program at ISM. Gimenez earned his Ph.D in Sciences at the Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse), MSc in Electrical Engineering at the Imperial College of Science and Technology (London), and BSc in Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Simon Bolivar (Caracas).

He works as a consultant engineer to firms throughout Venezuela, and is Professor of Operations Management and Operations Research at Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administracion in Caracas. In the past, he served as the Director of Advanced Management Program for the same university, and been a visiting professor at Universidad de Simon Bolivar. Gimenez has had over 20 scholarly articles published in research journals and presented at international conferences.

Michael Gordon, PhD

Dr. Michael Gordon teaches Corporate Entrepreneurial Strategies in the doctoral program at ISM. After twelve years in research, development, and management at Polaroid Corporation and Celanese Plastics Company, Dr. Gordon pursued a career in entrepreneurship and founded four companies: a plastics injection molding company, a company which made products for the control of static electricity (Plastic Systems, Inc) a network for entrepreneurs and investors (the Venture-Preneurs Network) and a private investment and consulting firm (Quantum Ventures). He is currently developing the internet venture AngelDeals.com, a virtual global network for the business community: entrepreneurs seeking funding and growth, investors seeking dealflow, business professionals seeking visibility, and both employers and job seekers.

Gordon received a PhD in Organo-Metallics and Polymers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1966 and a BS in Organic Chemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Elias Hadzillias, PhD

Dr.Elias Hadzillias teaches E-Commerce in the IMBA program at ISM. Born in Italy, raised and educated in the USA, Dr. Ivo Pezzuto is a seasoned lecturer of economics, finance, global competitiveness, and strategic management, governance and regulation, and international business at international business schools and executive education programs in Europe (i.e. Catholic University of Milan Fondazione ISTUD, IAE Nice, SMC. He is also a member of the advisory board of a number of international academic journals (i.e. The Global Analyst Magazine, The Journal of Governance and Regulation, The Journal of Business and Sustainability and investment firms). Furthermore, he is an economics commentator, columnist, and a regular contributor to news agencies and international TV broadcasting networks (e.g. CNBC, RAI Economia, Bloomberg/Business Week, AGR, Agência Estado, International Banker Magazine).

He is an internationally recognized author of papers, book chapters and books, articles, and journal publications on economics and on the 2008 global financial crisis. He wrote a book in 2013 titled "Predictable and Avoidable. Repairing Economic Dislocation and Preventing the Recurrence of Crisis" in collaboration with 22 "global thought leaders" of leading global organizations (e.g. Stanford University, NYU, University of Chicago, Wharton Financial Institutions Center, London School of Economics, IESE, Bocconi University, La Sorbonne University, Financial Times, Bloomberg LP, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Oracle, Temenos, Citi, Royal Bank of Scotland, Unicredit Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo Bank). In 2010 he has contributed one chapter, along with prominent scholars such as, James K. Galbraith, Benjamin J. Keys, Tanmoy Mukherjee, Amit Seru, and Vikrant Vig, Erik F. Prior to his current board advisory, management consulting, and academic career, he has held senior executive positions at national and international level in Europe for leading global organizations in diversified industries (FCA, American Express, Accenture, Citibank, Diners Club). He is a consultant and board advisor to national and international firms and institutions. He has earned a BS degree from NYU Stern School of Business, an MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management, and a Doctorate degree in Economics, Finance, and Corporate Governance from SMC University.

K. Matthew Wong, PhD

Dr. K. Matthew Wong teaches Valuation and Acquisition in the doctoral programs at ISM. Wong has been teaching in the areas of financial risk management, corporate finance, and financial instruments for over twenty years. He is currently a tenured Associate Professor of Finance and previously was Associate Chair at St. John’s University’s Department of Economics and Finance.

Wong is also a licensed attorney and has practiced at two major international law firms in New York City specializing in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, high yield financing and structured finance, including securitization. Professionally, Wong currently serves on the editorial board of the ISM Journal of International Business and was previously a member of the editorial board for Review of Business.

Wong received a JD from Fordham University School of Law, New York in 1997, a PhD in Finance from University of Mississippi in 1990, an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Manitoba, Canada in 1984 and a BA in Economics from Acadia University, Nova Scotia in 1982.

Dr. Philip Young teaches Business Simulations in the IMBA program at ISM. Young is a corporate education consultant who designs and implements seminars and training programs in finance, marketing, and strategy. He has over 30 years of experience in this area of consulting as a course designer, instructor, and facilitator.

He has conducted corporate education programs for these and a number of other companies in over 30 countries throughout the world. Prior to founding his own consulting firm, Phil was a Professor of Economics and Finance at Pace University in New York, where he taught in the MBA program for 25 years. While at Pace he was appointed as the first visiting professor in IBM's International Finance, Planning and Administration School located in NY and Belgium. In addition, he was the Director of Corporate Education for Pace University. His responsibilities included the academic leadership of Pace's corporate education and Executive MBA programs.
